Why choose Phocus Physical Therapy?

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to hailey.colbert@phocusphysicaltherapy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Essentially, yes. However, at Phocus, we believe that there is so much more to your pelvic health than just the pelvic floor and that pelvic floor therapy is much more than kegels.

Yes, males also have a pelvic floor!

In the state of North Carolina, you do not need a doctor's referral to begin physical therapy.

Phocus Physical Therapy is an out of network provider, meaning we do not bill insurance.

There are many benefits to receiving out of network care. For one, you know exactly the cost of each session before you are asked to pay. Second, your insurance company cannot dictate how many sessions you can attend and your therapist does not have to change her treatment plan according to their coverage. That means you receive the best care that the therapist can provide at each session and all sessions are one-on-one for the entirety of the session.

Yes, and we can provide a superbill for documentation to support the charge.

Wear comfortable clothes that you can move in easily and comfortably.

Yes, per patient preference, we can perform appropriate external techniques and exercises or we can continue internal treatments as usual.

About The Founder

Hailey Colbert is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who has been helping patients restore function and improve quality of life since 2015. A native of Chicago, she earned her doctorate from Governors State University and has extensive experience treating both orthopedic and pelvic health conditions in outpatient settings.

After completing advanced training through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, Hailey became a certified Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner (PRPC) in 2021. Her clinical approach combines evidence-based techniques with a whole-body perspective, allowing her to address not just symptoms, but the underlying causes of dysfunction.

Hailey is the founder of Phocus Physical Therapy, established in 2024. Originally opened in Elmhurst, Illinois, the practice has since relocated to Wilmington, North Carolina, where she continues to provide the same high level of personalized, one-on-one care.

Her areas of expertise include manual therapy, visceral mobilization, bladder retraining, pre- and postnatal care, and individualized exercise prescription. Hailey is passionate about treating the whole person and partners closely with each patient to help them achieve meaningful, lasting results—whether returning to daily activities, athletics, or overall wellness.

Outside of the office, you can find her outside with her two young boys and Bernese Mountain Dog.
